You asked for it...a WILD short story that isn't so short.

People loved Keegan and August (and Daisy) in WILD but many of you wanted more. You wanted to see them enjoying themselves (in more ways than one).

My plan was to write a short story about time in their Virgina home. But if you know my books, short is not something I do well. The short story has turned into a 20K novella. I am gonna get cavities from all this mushy, mushy, squishy, sweetness. This is SO not my comfort zone. I just want you to know I'm only doing this because I love my fans. HAHAHAHA

Right now it is tentatively called "63 Days Later". Some of you out there will get the significance of that particular number. If you do...please don't spoil it.

The story is written, but I need to do the revisions. I am shooting for a December release to coincide with a WILD book tour.

If you have a blog and interested in being part of the blog tour contact my assistant sstogner1 at gmail dot com to get on the list.

Thanks again to all my fans. You make it worth it.

Secret Project Revealed!

I'm considering doing Bound Gods in a graphic novel.

HOWEVER---I am having difficulty finding an artist. One...the material being *cough* dubious and two...the "feel" of the story in the figures. If anyone out there knows of an artist that can do sequential art (comic book cell style) with a mix of American manga but in a dark theme, please pass the word.

This will be a paying job. I am not asking anyone to work for free. If you're a reader and can do this kind of artwork, even better. :)
Anyhow...please pass the word. Right now I'm taking up sample art from people who have shown me a portfolio with art that resembles what I'm looking for. For those who have the right style/artwork I am paying for a sketch of a character to see how well they can take instructions.

Stories I'm working on now.

Thought I'd let you know what books I'm working on now.

The Darkest Hour (30% done)
Jeff and Felix's story. You met Jeff in In the Absence of Light and Felix was briefly mentioned near the end. This will be a much darker story. But Jeff and Felix will have a run-in with a certain couple ;)

Bound Gods #6: Claiming (80% done)
Leo, Kaleb and Aaron's story and it will break your heart. I will put it back together though ;) They will literally go to hell (purgatory) and back. *insert evil author laugh*

Bound Gods #7: The Stone Child (80% done)
Marud and Jessie's story. Marud is a god that appeared in Bound Gods #5 Crocuta Crocuta. Jessie is a strong-headed 19-year-old doxie who has taken care of himself since he was young.

Bound Gods #8: Pandora's Heart (25% done)
Pandora and Ishtar's story. Pandora has been a reader favorite and was sent off at the end of Bound Gods #4 Reborn to live with the goddesses. Ishtar is a titan imprisoned there.

Bound Gods #10 (10% done)
Jinx and Ira are an underage god and doxie. This story is still in the planning stage.

These next three Bound Gods will be published at the same time because they all occur in the same timeline. There will be some crossing over when the characters from each story have to interact with each other. You should be able to read these three in any order you want.

Sicarii (80% done)
This is a contemporary story about Marcel, a brutal assassin. But it is not about him finding love. He manipulates two people, Ben and Jacob, who are intertwined with his life. There is also a 14-year-old boy named Sam who lives next door to Marcel. His is a coming of age story (there is no romance element to his part of the story)

I really like Marcel...but he is exhausting to write.

Sins of the Father (5% done)
Dorian and Mitch's story.
Dorian is an ex-catholic priest. His father was in the mafia and ripped off another family. The family came looking the stolen item and found Dorian and exacted revenge on him.
Mitch is an ex-police officer but quit when people found out he ran a BDSM club. He now acts as a police consultant on sex crimes.

August Vallory had it all. A modeling career, a man he loved, and the extended family he’d acquired in the business. Then the world he knew was torn away when the plane he was on crashed en route to a photo shoot.

Lost in the Alaskan wilderness, August doesn’t stand a chance.

No sane man would choose to live in the Alaskan bush unless he had something to hide. And Keegan Brooks has secrets darker than night, more dangerous than wolves, more brutal than an Alaskan winter.

Every day was a fight for his life until he stumbled upon a downed plane with a lone survivor. Now it’s no longer just Keegan’s life teetering on the edge of survival.

It’s his heart.

Andrew Atler has learned the hard way, fiction is far better than real life. In his romance novels the world is safe, predictable, and there is always a happy ending. Best of all, he can safely fall in love and the person will never know. There he can weave a tale of perfect passion plus pay the bills.

Matt Grim flies the colors of Hell’s Legion. When he’s not riding his chopper, he’s working as a bouncer for the Six. Matt’s life consists of drinking, playing in a band, and burning the midnight oil in the dungeon. He lives hard, plays hard, and rides even harder.

Two people who would never be a part of the same EPIC love story.

But sometimes those fairy tale clichés have a way of working magic.

And sometimes…sometimes those happy endings do come true.

The problem with stockart...a cover designer's dilemma.

Well, that cover everyone loved for WILD had to be changed. I found out there is another cover through Dreamspinner that uses the same model in almost the exact same way as mine. Theirs was out first. This is a problem many cover artists run into. Stock art is open for anyone to buy and use. You don't get exclusive rights to it.

When an author makes or buys cover art, they don't want their book to be confused with someone else's. So, I had to change my cover. The cover concept I used is perfect for the story, so I stuck with it. No one else will have this model because I created him by cobbling together pieces of other photos; someone who truly looks like Keegan.

The new cover is the same, but not the same.

I hope you understand why I had to change my cover and will love my new version too.

Here are some of my attempts

COVER REVEAL: Wild by Adrienne Wilder

Here is the cover and tentative blurb for Wild. Both could be tweaked a bit before publication. I don't have a release date yet. I am almost done with revisions, then it will go to my editors. Barring any major issues, it should be out before the end of summer.
This is a new cover I created to avoid similarities to another author's cover.
No sane man would choose to live in the Alaskan bush unless he had something to hide. And Keegan Brooks has secrets darker than night, more dangerous than wolves, more brutal than an Alaskan winter. Every day for him was survival until he found August Vallory the sole survivor in a downed plane.

It’s no longer just Keegan’s life teetering on the edge of survival.

Now it’s his heart.

Sexy excerpt from Epic by Adrienne Wilder

This is Adrienne's first contemporary romance. The story is more light-hearted than most of Adrienne's previous titles. But don't worry, the sex scenes are the same mind-blowing kind Adrienne is known for.

New Release: Crocuta Crocuta (Bound Gods #5) by Adrienne Wilder

Bound Gods #5 is now on amazon.
Bound Gods #5: Crocuta Crocuta
by Adrienne Wilder
June 2, 2017
For a god, what could be closer to heaven than living in a safe haven like Sanctuary, with an endless supply of ambrosia, delivered by the beautiful bodies of the Doxies in Alton’s harem?

But unlike the majority of the gods in Sanctuary who are less than human, Cerberus isn’t exotic or fantastical. His appearance, his…habits…have become the horror stories whispered on the lips of Doxies.

And while Cerberus might be immortal, his pride is not indestructible. Seeing the love of a Doxie for a monster like the Chimera, shatters it.

A chance encounter with an undocumented Doxie named Owen begins to transform Cerberus’s life. At least until Alton removes Owen from Cerberus’s care, banning the god from training the boy—to protect him from Cerberus’s animal nature.

In reality, Alton's motives are far more frightening. And the truth could kill Cerberus and Owen both.

Thirteen part II is coming soon!

Hello, it's been a while since I've had any news for you, but Thirteen part II is with the editor. Once I get it back I will have more details on the release. I am hoping by the end of May.

I have been feeling better and have made a lot of progress on many stories. I hope to publish more this year. I will post more about those books soon!

Thanks for all your patience with Thirteen part II. The Others stories are complex and at times, exhausting to write. I think you will be happy with the results. Yes, Thirteen will rip your heart out and put it back together again. It's what I do best ;)

If you haven't read Thirteen part I, you can grab it here.
Thank you for all your support!

Why I write: A letter from a reader.

I wanted to share with you a special letter I received. I am honored and humbled that my story Jack, a coming of age story about a transgender boy, helped someone realize they are not alone and there is hope...

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Dear Adrienne Wilder,

The girl in the red dress stared at the mirror. Her eyes roamed up and down, noting the curves of her chest and hips, her soft face and flowing hair.

But this wasn’t the real person who stood in the front of the mirror. That person had a flat chest, strong jawline, and didn’t have translucent black lines running down his face.

He never hated his body, but the universe was determined to change that. They made him think he was the only one in the world who felt like this, and that he’d never be happy.

Your book, Adrienne Wilder, was the best thing he could have asked for.

Almost four years ago, I came out as transgender. I haven’t always known, but part of me felt that something “was off” from the start. Through the years, I have gotten lots of support, but no one has been able to fully understand it. Until you. Until Jack. Jack was the first time I finally saw my emotions on paper, and not written by me.

Relating to Jack was instantaneous. For many years I have dealt with family members refusing to accept or acknowledge how I present myself, and more than once have I attempted suicide. In chapter two, when he says, “Falling wasn’t half as frightening as being trapped with Emma. Being forced into a shape I did not fit,” I was scared of how much I understood that feeling.

One thing I truly learned from this book, though, is to never stop looking for a brighter future. Life may beat you down, and bad days may turn into bad weeks or months. But that doesn’t mean you won’t get your happy ending.

Before I read this book, I was a month out of the hospital for suicidal thoughts and quickly sinking into yet another depression. Not only did this book make me feel like I wasn’t truly alone, it gave me hope. As the book progressed, Jack’s situation kept getting worse and worse, and I had a feeling from the start that it wouldn’t have a happy ending. But in the final chapters, when Jack and Noah finally got out of the hospital and created a new life together, I couldn’t believe it. There have been so many times where I’ve felt completely hopeless about my future, and that I’ll never be satisfied. This ending made me realize that right now is not my happy ending, but I’ll get there. Everything can’t happen at once, but one day I will be where I want to be and who I want to be. This simple lesson has motivated me to be as happy as I can in the moment and to never stop believing.

So in the end, Adrienne Wilder, I’d like to say thank you. Thank you for the emotions, the lessons, and most of all, for Jack.

Sincerely,
CJ Medley

Union, Georgia. 1971. Born in the wrong body Jack finds himself lost and trapped in a town where he feels out of place. Acceptance – or even tolerance – doesn’t exist in Union, or within his family. When Jack attempts suicide following his mother’s death, Jack’s sister Emma has him committed to Meadow Field Psychiatric Hospital, where they continue to try and change him, convince him that how he feels and who he is, is wrong.
But in this most unlikely place, among the most unlikely friends and unspeakable fear, Jack learns that all acts have consequences, some things cannot be changed, and love isn’t defined by the body it comes in.
